Perhaps it's just something they went back in time far enough to do what I'm asking for (download 10.3). Worth noting that other software purchased on the app store (pixelmator, pages, slack, typing software for the kiddo) DO present the 'download software version for this OS version' dialog, and work fine. I did fine a file called 'ist' that says (in xml): "No serial numbers for this computer have been found" -> It's an 'MZCodedException: ' I've removed 9.1 and everything I can find that references Logic Studio from /Library, ~/Library, Application Settings, caches for app store/logic, 'home' library settings for Logic. Sometimes 'update' says install, which is really what it needs to do on top of 9.1, but that doesn't do anything either. However, clicking 'update' in the app store doesn't do anything (from both the 'product' view or the 'purchased' view). I open the app store to upgrade to LPX 'whatever.' -> thinking it would do as my other older machines and update to the most recent version available for this OS (10.3-something, I think). I upgraded that to El Capitan, as far as this machine supports. I restored a backup of Snow Leopard to a new drive. So: I'm resurrecting a 2008 Mac Pro from my old garage, complete with a few failed hard drives, some dead memory, and other expected things when you let a machine sit for 6 years. I haven't posted in a while, and formerly under the name 'inmazevo' -> I'll get that fixed. If this isn't the correct spot to post this topic, feel free to correct me.
